Rabbi Ephraim Oshry
Rabbi Ephraim Oshry (1914-2003), author of a five-volume religious response to the Holocaust, led Beth Hamedrash Hagadol on the Lower East Side for 50 years. In 1951, Rabbi Oshry wrote a book in Yiddish entitled
Khurban Lite (Churban Lita, The Annihilation of Lithuanian Jewry).
